The Gemini award-winning Loving Spoonfuls, which nourished viewers across Canada for four splendid seasons returns is on the airwaves, at 2:30 p.m Tuesdays. on CBC TV. This 65-part series,, features a saucy blend of seasoned grandmothers who bring a fresh spin to a new genre kitchen comedy. It is a heart-warming, laugh-out-loud half-hour program about character, culture and food, which celebrates the living treasures of our world - our grandmas.

Prior to landing on CBC TVs fall schedule, Loving Spoonfuls ran for four delicious seasons on the W Network. The series features lovable grannies from varied backgrounds, including Dutch, Jamaican, Cree, German, Japanese, Scottish, Jewish, Italian, Chinese, Armenian, Indian and Sudanes. Each granny prepares a classic ethnic dish, while sharing secret recipes, life stories and passions.
Actor and culinary enthusiast, David Gale, hosts the series and he earned both a Gemini and Galaxy Award for his unforgettable antics. Each episode opens with Gale and a grandmother on a neighbourhood shopping spree in search of authentic ingredients. In the kitchen, Gale's warmth and affection puts the grandmothers at ease, while his flirtatious humour keeps them on their toes.
Allan Novak is an award-winning editor (The Newsroom, Foolish Heart, and Kids In The Hall) and an accomplished director (CODCO, Life and Times, and Mike Myers' early comedy work) and is currently producing comedy and lifestyle for a number of Canadian networks.
